Parasite Control
Parasite control is the combination of preventive medication and routine testing that keeps fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms from harming your pet. Parasites such as fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms are more than just a nuisance—they can cause serious illness and, in some cases, become life-threatening for pets. Ticks can transmit diseases like Lyme disease, fleas can carry tapeworms and bacteria such as Bartonella, and heartworms—spread through mosquitoes—can severely damage the heart and lungs over time. Intestinal parasites like roundworms and hookworms can also affect pets and may pose risks to humans in the household.
Parasites are not always easy to detect. Fleas often hide deep within your pet’s coat, ticks can be extremely small, and many internal parasites show no obvious symptoms in the early stages. Even when signs such as diarrhea or weight loss appear, they may already indicate a more advanced infection. This is why regular parasite screening and preventive care are essential.
