Veterinarian
Dr. Hui graduated from Michigan State University with her DVM in May 2003. She has expertise in exotic pet medicine and surgery, gained through work at universities, zoos, and wildlife rehabilitation centers — including toxicology research with birds in Uganda. Outside the clinic, she enjoys hiking, bike riding, watching college sports, and Yoga/Pilates.
Veterinarian & Clinic Operator
Dr. Weinrick earned her DVM from Michigan State University in 2003. She worked alongside Dr. Hui in exotic animal practice for six years, then at the Humane Society of Huron Valley, before founding Uptown Veterinary Clinic. She is committed to providing personalized, high-quality veterinary care. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, yoga, and gardening.
Veterinary Assistant
Kayla holds a Biology degree from Eastern Michigan University (2021) and is working toward veterinary school. She brings a creative spirit to the team and is passionate about cosplay, Dungeons & Dragons, and arts and crafts.
Animal Care Staff
Jess has spent most of her adult life working in the animal care field. A fan of Gilmore Girls, Dateline, and true crime, she also loves visiting Disney World and attending reptile shows.
Veterinary Staff — Avian Specialist
With 12+ years in veterinary medicine, Dawn has a deep passion for birds. At home she keeps ducks, a rooster, Guinea Fowl, and geese. She enjoys walks, fishing, and farm swap meets.
Veterinary Technician
Jen graduated from Wayne County Community College's veterinary technician program in 2009. An avid swimmer, she also loves puzzles and reading in her downtime.
Receptionist & Assistant
Destiny has been with the clinic for 5+ years and is known for bringing laughter and warmth to every interaction. She enjoys horseback riding, spending time with family, and is the team's most dedicated Christmas enthusiast.
Animal Care Staff & Vet Tech Student
With 10+ years of animal care experience, Anna is currently earning her Vet Tech License through Penn Foster. She loves camping, hiking, geocaching, and collecting oddities.
Veterinary Assistant
Emily joined the team in 2021 and is pursuing her Vet Tech degree. She has experience with both small and large animals, and enjoys horseback riding outside of work.
Veterinary Staff
Oriana brings 7+ years of veterinary medicine experience and holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University. A sports fan and concert-goer, she greets every client with warmth and enthusiasm.
Receptionist & Assistant
Maddie has 4+ years of experience and holds an Associate's degree in Animal Welfare Business Administration. She completed an aviary zookeeper internship and loves crafts, wordsearches, and trying new restaurants.
Retired Clinic Cat
Sid served as Uptown's beloved clinic cat for many years before retiring to live with Dr. Hui. He recently celebrated his 20th birthday — a true legend.
