SAME GREAT CLINIC WITH A NEW NAMEWe're excited to let you know that City Pets Veterinary Clinic will now be called Uptown Veterinary Clinic! Recently we discovered that the name "City Pets" had been trademarked by another practice. Unfortunately, after consulting with legal professionals, we came to conclusion that our only option was to change our name. Rest assured that there are no changes in ownership, management, or day to day operations. Dr. Hui, Dr. Weinrick, and all of the staff here at City Pets/Uptown Vet Clinic remain dedicated to the care of your pets!

To all of our rabbit owners,
Some of you may have heard of a contagious and deadly disease called Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHD) or Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease virus 2 (RHDV2). This virus is carried by both wild and domestic rabbits and can also be spread by insects. Even if your rabbit is kept strictly indoors they are still in danger of contracting this deadly disease. It’s important to keep your rabbit indoors but there are other things you can do to protect your precious bunny as this virus can cause death 3-5 days after exposure.
Wash your hands after handling rabbits.
After contact with other rabbits, change your clothes and leave your shoes outside.
Disinfect and objects that may be contaminated.
Quarantine any new rabbits for at least 30 days.
Know your sources of hay, feed and greens.
Fortunately, there is a vaccine to protect your rabbit against this terrible disease. The vaccination is low risk and effective for the vast majority of rabbits. The vaccine is a series of 2 shots given 3 weeks apart and is available at your annual appointment.
