Digital X-ray (Radiograph)
|
Radiography, or x-ray, is key diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine that can be used in cases ranging from vomiting to limping to severe injury. Our digital x-ray machine will take images of the inside of your pet and offer information that may be indiscernible from the outside. Radiology will give us good images that we can use to evaluate almost all of your pet's organs, including the lungs, heart, and abdominal organs, as well as their bones. The shape and size of these organs can be seen on the film and evaluated, giving our doctors valuable information to aide in diagnosing your pet.
Our digital x-ray machine uses low level doses of radiation to capture the images from inside your pet. The process is so safe, painless, and non-invasive that we are able to capture images of puppies still in the womb. X-rays are safe enough to be done on very young animals as well which can give us advanced warning for common genetic problems in the bones. X-rays are a powerful tool that can take a theory and turn it into a diagnosis. |
